Barry E. Bannett Named to Kennedy University Hospital Board of Trustees

VOORHEES, NJ — Barry E. Bannett of Haddonfield has been named to the Board of Trustees of Kennedy University Hospital for a three-year term. Bannett is the CEO of The Bannett Group, Ltd., an integrated design-build firm in Cherry Hill, NJ.
A graduate of Washington University Architectural School in St. Louis, MO, Mr. Bannett holds a B.S. in architectural sciences and is licensed to practice in seven states, including New Jersey, Delaware and Pennsylvania. Certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, he is a licensed planner in the State of New Jersey.
Since founding his own firm in 1970, Mr. Bannett has designed and built innovative projects for medical/professional, retail, commercial/industrial and religious facilities in excess of $750 million dollars. A third-generation designer-builder, his early career included working for Basic Building Corporation, a design/development company in Philadelphia, and Philadelphia architectural firm Bartley, Long, Mirenda, Reynolds & Noble, where he served as a Project Architect on federal buildings, public schools and hospitals.
Mr. Bannett currently serves on the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Design-Build Knowledge Community; in 2008, he served as its Chairman. An active member of the Design-Built Institute of America (DBIA), Mr. Bannett earned his designation as a Design-Builder in 2002. Mr. Bannett has served as an advisor to DBIA’s board, is a member of its Education Committee, is a faculty member and a national instructor in DBIA workshops. In November 2008, Bannett was awarded the DBIA’s prestigious Brunelleschi Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his commitment to design-build project delivery and service to the design-build community.
A member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, Design Build Institute of America, American Institute of Architects, South Jersey Chamber of Commerce and the Urban Land Institute, Bannett has served as a Board Member of the Cherry Hill Chamber of Commerce, Archway Programs, Associated Builders and Contractors, the Cherry Hill National Bank, the Camden County Board of Construction Appeals, Temple Emanuel; the Jewish Geriatric Home of Southern New Jersey, and the New Jersey Society of Architects. He is a former President of Woodcrest Country Club and has also served as a member of the American Arbitration Association and the New Jersey State Aquarium Chairman’s Circle of Leadership Committee, as well as the Garden State Rotary. Bannett resides in Haddonfield, NJ, with his wife, Judy.
Kennedy is a health services delivery system serving the communities of southern New Jersey. Kennedy meets the community’s healthcare needs with services at its hospital campuses in Cherry Hill, Stratford and Washington Township and at outpatient facilities throughout Camden and Gloucester counties. The Kennedy Health System is a Principal hospital of the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey and a member of the University of Pennsylvania Cancer Network.
